Dr. Shahzad Malik - Chief Technology Officer
A pioneer in the field of Computer Vision and Human Computer Interaction, Shahzad is responsible for CognoVision's software and systems architecture development. Shahzad has worked at the National Research Council of Canada where he built computer vision interfaces. His development of the core technology behind Nouse, an application to control a computer using face tracking, has been showcased on CNN, CBC Newsworld, Discovery Channel, Silicon Valley North and New Scientist. Shahzad's in-depth knowledge in the field of computer science and his experience with computer vision provides CognoVision with a tremendous amount of development expertise. He holds a Bachelors of Computer Science and Masters of Computer Science from Carleton University, and a Ph.D in Computer Science from the University of Toronto.

Haroon Mirza - Director of Business Development
Haroon leads CognoVision's business development efforts, focusing on nurturing client relationships, bringing in new business and forming strategic partnerships. He has worked as a consultant for the Carleton University Foundry Program, evaluating technology startups and obtaining pre-seed capital to commercialize on-campus technologies. Haroon has also worked in the consumer packaged goods industry as a Sr. Analyst for Cadbury Adams, overseeing the demand planning for $85 million of business. He holds a Bachelors of Commerce degree from Carleton University, where he specialized in Finance.

Faizal Javer - Director of Operations
Faizal is a co-founder of many privately held businesses spanning various industries; including but not limited to Automotive, Real Estate Development and Luxury Women's Apparel. He currently sits on the board of one of Canada's largest mattress manufacturers, a company he co-founded. Faizal's track record of entrepreneurial success in many industries has provided him with a great amount of experience and knowledge regarding how to succeed in business. He provides strategic direction to CognoVision, leveraging on his vast knowledge of execution in the competitive entrepreneurial environment. Faizal is currently enrolled in the prestigious EO/MIT Entrepreneurial Masters Program.

Peter Evans - Advisor
Peter Evans advises entrepreneurs and high growth companies in ICT markets, specializing in corporate strategic planning, marketing and channel development. He has over 15 years experience working in venture-backed technology start-ups and publicly traded companies in the software, Internet services, online media and telecommunication sectors. Previously, Peter worked in major accounts sales, product management, research and senior marketing roles at Call-Net, Bell Canada, MediaLinx/Sympatico, FloNetwork (acquired by DoubleClick in 2001), PlateSpin Inc. and DCCI Inc. He serves on the board of directors of Sitebrand in Ottawa and the Toronto Venture Group. He is also a member of the Toronto Angel Group. Peter is a noted speaker on various technology and business-to-business marketing trends and best practices. He was educated in cognitive psychology and telecommunications management at the University of Toronto and Ryerson and also holds an MBA from Queen's University.
